Humans have different blood groups due to variations in the molecules (antigens) on the surface of red blood cells.

These antigens are inherited through genes and can be either A, B, or O, resulting in the four main blood groups: A, B, AB, and O.

The Rh factor (positive or negative) further divides these groups into a total of eight different blood types.

A person's blood type is determined by the genes they inherit from their parents.

Different blood types are important for safe blood transfusions, as mismatched blood can cause serious reactions.
