One of Zubeen's favourite song, 'Mayabini Ratir Bukut' means - In the bosom of the magical night, became the anthem of grief for lakhs across Assam after the icon's demise on September 19.

Zubeen lived life king sized. Always outspoken, in one his films (Kanchanjangha) he said - Mur kunu jaati nai, mur kunu bheti nai - which translates to - I have no caste, I have no religion/origin.

Assam respected Zubeen's wish

Zubeen died on September 19,2025. His death brought the entire state of Assam and the nation to a standstill. Irrespective of class, creed, religion, all reached Guwahati, Assam to pay their last respects to their icon.

He united all in his death

Mayabini Ratir Bukut, became the anthem for millions across the country. Though Zubeen may not be alive, but his songs will always remember in the hearts of millions.

Zubeen's mortal remains have been exhumed at Sonapur's Kamarkuchi. The icon sleeps in the bosom of the magical night. And so the songs continue
