ITANAGAR: 28 more people, including three security personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh over the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 16,948.
Among the fresh cases, eight were recorded in Itanagar Capital Region, seven in Lower Dibang Valley, five in West Kameng, two each in Papum Pare and East Kameng, and one each in Lepa Rada and East Siang districts.
An Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan and two army men are among the new patients.
The state currently has 92 active cases, while 56 people have succumbed to the disease so far.
On the other hand, as many as 16,800 people have recovered from the disease till now.

The recovery and positivity rate in the state currently stand at 99.13 and 0.54 per cent respectively.
Altogether, 4,19,072 samples have been tested so far, including 571 yesterday.
A total of 1,65,414 persons have been inoculated in the state so far.
