An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale was felt in various parts of Northeastern India today, including Assam capital Dispur. The 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit the region at around 2:52 pm and its impact could be felt for as long as ten seconds.
The earthquake originated in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. It occurred precisely at 14:52:14 IST and its origin has been reported from Lat:27.7 N & Long: 92.8 E. The earthquake originated at a depth of 10 km.
The 5.6 magnitude earthquake resulted in 'strong shaking' in the entire region.
No casualties have been reported so far.
