ITANAGAR: With 65 more persons testing positive for coronavirus over the past 24 hours, Arunachal Pradesh recorded the highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases in the second wave of the pandemic. This takes the state’s tally to 17,052.
With the new cases, the state currently has 176 active cases, while 56 people have succumbed to the disease so far.
On the other hand, as many as 16,820 people have recovered from the disease till now, with 11 being discharged today.
Altogether, 4,21,131 samples have been tested in the state so far, including 1162 in the past 24 hours.

At present, Itanagar Capital Complex have 72 active COVID-19 cases, followed by Lower Dibang Valley 40, East Siang 14, West Kameng 13, Papum Pare nine, Namsai seven, Leparada and Lower Subansiri five each, Lohit and Tawang three each, East Kameng and Changlang two each and Upper Siang one.
