In her complaint, the woman said that Bameng had called her to the hotel at 8 pm as he wanted to discuss matters relating to the Bameng Primary Health Centre, where she is an employee.
However, he soon started molesting her, the complainant stated.
He eventually went on to rape her, threatening her of dire circumstances if she disclosed it to anyone.
Police said that a case has been filed. However, a counter complaint has also been registered by the MLA, and a probe is on to determine whether it was a rape case or a consensual extra-marital affair.
