Guwahati, February 25, 2019:
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has called an All Party Meeting on Monday due to the ongoing protests in the state against the issue of Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) to non-APST communities in the state. There is a possibility of President’s Rule being imposed in the state after the meeting.
CM Khandu said: “Through an official letter, the Arunachal Pradesh Government has decided on not to bring up the issue of PRC again. The Government simply wants to discuss the issue on the Assembly Floor.”
Khandu has also assured that the government is ready to settle the issue with all the stakeholders. Requesting the people to maintain peace in the state, Khandu assured that the PRC will never be discussed through Facebook early in the morning today.
It may be mentioned that the protestors burnt down the house of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and also caused damage to several government offices including Itanagar police station and Deputy Commissioner’s office.
