Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday met the Arunachali Sub Junior Football team after they had made the state proud by being the runner-ups in the Hero Sub Junior National Girls Football Championship held recently in Cuttack.
The girls visited the Chief Minister's residence on Monday and video footage shows the young girls all giggly and excited to be inside the four walls of the office!
The Arunachal Chief Minister announced the visit of the young footballers through social media platform Twitter. He tweeted: "Sports have made them so joyous and cheerful. Nice to see our upcoming generation happy & healthy. Happy meeting today Arunachali Football team that finished runner up in the Hero Sub Junior Girls’ National Football Championship held recently at Cuttack."
While congratulating the team, Khandu said the government is ready to cooperate and support their endeavours.
It may be mentioned that the Arunachali Sub Junior Football team had a historic run in the championships, where they were unbeaten until the final, where they lost to the girls from Jharkhand. Tallo Ana scored 15 goals - the highest in the latest edition of the tournament.
