ITANAGAR: In an unusual incident, at least eight vehicles were dented when a truck suddenly stopped “moving” and another truck had to be brought to make it in motion through a string which couldn’t resist the strength of the heavy vehicle, following which it slumped along the highway (NH-415) near Zero-point Itanagar.
Among the eight vehicles, five are scootys and one each of autorickshaw, duster and scorpio. Three of the scootys were damaged beyond repair. However, no casualty or injury was reported in the incident.
Drivers of both the trucks fled from the scene by the time the police arrived.

According to OC, PS Itanagar, Phassang Simi, the truck bearing registration no AS01 MC6C 5434 was being pulled by another truck with a rope as it was in immovable condition.
“As both the trucks were moving up ahead after crossing Zero-point tinali, the rope which was pulling the second truck broke making it slide down the path damaging many vehicles on the way. The truck finally stopped near KFC,” he said.
Phassang Simi Officer in charge of Itanagar Police station informed that the search is on to identify the owner of the truck as well as to find out the absconding drivers. They have to compensate the loss and damage of the vehicles and booked as per law.
