ITANAGAR: Arunachal’s Yomgo river is running at the danger level infecting paddy fields in Kabu village of West Siang district.

Due to continious rain, extensive damage has been reported from various parts of the West Siang district.

The rain and pests during the flowering stages, as well as the constant rain during the ripening stage are wreaking havoc on the standing crops.

During the monsoon season, this is a major source of concern for villagers throughout in the district.

Erosion and landslides in many parts of the districts hampered communication links to Shi-Yomi, West Siang, Leparada and Siang districts.

The Aalo-Likabali and Aalo-Pangin roads are already blocked and the Rumgong-Boleng-Mariyang via Pasighat road which is the only alternative, is also reportedly blocked.

The TAH construction agency would have to clear the block points to ensure continued transportation of essential commodities to the district.
