Tawang, May 4, 2019:

In a truly tragic development, a Class XII student hailing from Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh reportedly committed suicide on May 2 after she failed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination.

The student, identified as 19-year-old Rinching Drema, was a native of Mago village in Jang circle of Tawang district and was studying at the government higher secondary school in Jang.

The girl reportedly drowned herself in a water tank near the Jang waterfall sometime between 5 pm and 5:30 pm on Thursday, local police informed.

Her body was found by a local in the PHED water tank in the town. The postmortem report ascertained that the cause of the girl’s death was drowning.

The body of the 19-year-old was handed over to her family yesterday.

An unnatural death case under Section 174 CrPC has been lodged and a case (No 02/19 PS Jang) has been registered.
