ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh government yesterday released Rs 26.84 crore for stipend and scholarship funds for the ‘payment of stipend and book grants for the academic session 2020-21.
The state chief minister Pema Khandu sharing this on Twitter wrote,“For stipend & scholarships for our students, I have instructed as under:- Stipend for college & university students will be disbursed immediately.”

The government has directed the higher education department to use the funds only after checking the actual need and following all rules and regulations.
"On the direction of Arunachal Pradesh CM Shri @PemaKhanduBJP Ji, an amount of Rs 2685.34 Lakh is released for the purpose of stipend & scholarships of the students, "Releasing the amount Sports minister Rijiju tweeted."
For the higher authority's approval, the department shall furnish reports of expenditures made against the fund allocated to the Planning & Investment Division, they added.
In the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak, the Arunachal Pradesh government released Rs 53.26 crore as stipends and scholarships for a total of 38,594 students last year.
