Arunachal MP Ninong Ering to introduce 3 Bills in Lok Sabha today

Guwahati, December 28, 2018:

Lok Sabha representative from Arunachal Pradesh, Ninong Ering, is all set to introduce three bills in the Lok Sabha today.

The first bill, the Prevention of Custodial Torture Bill, 2018, provides for punishment for torture, other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment inflicted by public servants or any person with the consent or acquiescence of any public servant; to protect the interests of the victims, complainants and witnesses from all kinds of ill-treatment while in custody and to compensate the victim suitably.

The second bill, the Social Media Accountability Bill, 2018, is a bill to hold media service providers accountable

The third bill is the Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2018 or Railways Safety Bill, 2018. This bill is meant to constitute an Independent ‘Railway Safety Board’ to ensure proper safety  mechanisms in the Indian Railways.
