A major 1st sub-divisional level consultative cum interactive pre-discussion meeting on planning for taking up various developmental activities under Mebo Sub-Division involving all HoDs, PRI leaders, Gaon Buras and other senior citizen under 39th Mebo Assembly Constituency was held at Motum community hall (Mosup) Thursday.

The meeting started with welcome address by EAC i/c ADC Mebo, Sangeeta Yirang which followed by read out of annual plan/project/schemes to be taken up during the year 2018-19 and submission of proposal by Head of the Departments to 39th Mebo MLA cum Advisor to Chief Minister, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and Dy. Commissioner, Pasighat.

While speaking on the problem faced by the executing agencies and departments at the time of implementing schemes sanctioned by government such as non parting way of private land, execution of contract work, obstruction during lifting of sand gravel etc, Dr. Milorai Modi, Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat advised the people to welcome every development and no obstruction should be created. Dr. Modi who originally hails from Ayeng village of Mebo Sub-Division tried to elaborate and convince the panchayat leaders and GBs about the need of voluntary donation of lands without demanding huge compensation. He took reference of Roing’s Bassu Perme, who donated around 10 Acres of land for establishment of government institutions for which his name is still remembered. Dr. Modi also spoke on giving more emphasis on improvement of road communication and suggested for building strong bund along the bank of Ayeng side of Siku river to protect Siku bridge which poses constant threat of erosion every monsoon season.

Bodong Yirang, retired Director Elementary Education and Secretary General, Adi Baane Kebang spoke on strengthening of Kebang system of Adis by saying that, Adis has been following this institution of Kebang since time immemorial which is a one of the root for democracy. Yirang also took assurance from all GBs and meeting house to resolved and ensure cleanliness of all respective villages where no death bodies/carcass of cow, pig, dog are thrown in open place which spreads diseases. The carcasses will required to be buried properly.

While, Dr. Buk Lego, retired DDSE also spoke on regulation of cow/cattle in the villages for cleanliness purposes and to protect the crops and vegetables being destroyed by the cattle. He also spoke on immediate need to regulate rampant hunting and killing of wild animals and birds by using guns, airguns and blasting, inverter and poisoning of river etc. He appealed DC, Pasighat to issue directives to ban use of Airguns, as by using this guns massive killings of birds are taking place in the region.

In the meeting, total of 44 HGBs and GBs under Mebo Sub-Division were distributed Television sets by Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng, DC, Pasighat Tamiyo Tatak, ADC Mebo i/c Sangeeta Yirang, DPO Ponung Boring, CO Mebo A. Pangging and others. The TV sets were distributed under CM’s rural information programme.

In his speech, Dy. Commissioner, Tamiyo Tatak also laid emphasis on support from all quarters for any developmental works. “Development means, a road will pass through someone’s land, development means someone or somebody will have to compromise with their lands for infrastructural establishments etc. If these developmental works are disrupted by claiming compensation or by creating disturbances not to let road to pass through their lands, no development can take place”, added Tatak. He also advised the village heads to unanimously agree upon common developmental works/schemes upon which no obstruction should be created later. Tatak also warned GBs not to take side of any wrongful party by taking bribes in the form of wine, money etc.

While addressing the Officers of various departments, PRI leaders and Gaon Buras, Mebo MLA cum Advisor to CM Lombo Tayeng to be party and united in all developmental works. He advised the officers of various work departments to be sincere in work and t hose insincere officers may leave Mebo. Tayeng also appealed GBs not to involve in active politics. He also took reference of some RTI activists who are filing RTIs only for money, and he cautioned every officer to be sincere in their works so that nothing to be worried about during any RTI fillings.

Under Sabka Sath Sabka Vikash initiative of Prime Minister Naredra Modi with an objective to governance at your doorstep, today’s meeting is being convened so that no gape grows up between the developmental works. Regarding major flood protection works to be taken up along Siang River, Tayeng said that due to no loan grant to Arunachal from ADB and World bank on Chinese interference, fund supports for flood control works minimal. Regarding double lane road project of Mebo-Dhola Road, Tayeng informed the house that due to huge cost involvement (around 1000 crores), the project is further pending now though NEC had approve it earlier.

Talking on the cease of power of Panchayat from today onward, Tayeng expressed his pleasure over working with all. Tayeng also announced a sum of Rs. 2.5 lakhs to award the cleanest village under Mebo Sub-Division.
