ARUNACHAL PRADESH: DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION CLEARS FINAL HURDLES ALONG RUNWAY FOR COMMERCIAL FLIGHT IN PASIGHAT AIRPORT

Paving ways for much awaited regular commercial flight services from state’s oldest town, Pasighat from Monday, 21st May 2018 onward on which the first inaugural flight services will begin, the District Administration here has cleared the final hurdles along the runway like trees and bamboos in the approach path, demolished a mandir and beacon light of runway are being replaced as observed by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Passengers can avail the services from inaugural flight on 21st May.

District Administration led by DC, Tamiyo Tatak and SP, Prashant Gautam made the final clearances as observed by the BCAS so that no disturbances are created for smooth flow of air traffic in this centurion town of the state which is now going to get connected with rest of the nation and the world via air services. The air connectivity with rest of the world to this land lock frontier state is a smooth beginning and as Pasighat is about to be developed at the line of Smart City more developments is awaited by the common masses.

As per the records, the Vayudooth/Kalingga planes had once had operated from this town since from the British era but the services was halted due to certain negligence from the central government then. The same airport was under rapid reactivation around 2 decades ago, but it was disrupted when Chinese flood of year 2000 damaged the entire earth cutting and leveling works then. However, the revitalization effort was initiated again during 2012-13 to re-develop the airport on strategic ground and finally the project was successfully completed during 2017 which will be jointly used for both domestic air connectivity (commercial) and defense purposes.

Meanwhile, T.K. Saha, Coordinator Alliance Air and Tamuna Messar, Director Civil Aviation, Government of Arunachal Pradesh has informed that, the passengers can book their tickets from Saturday onward by visiting the official website of Air India. Both has appealed the public to avail the services from 21st May next where flight services will start from Kolkata-Guwahati-Pasighat and returning on the same route.

Initially, the Alliance Air will fly thrice a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, they informed. When asked about the cost of the fair, the officials were clueless to mention the exact figure, but said that the promotional fair will be of average or nominal.
