ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Government on Friday extended the ongoing lockdown in the Itanagar Capital Region for one more week till June 7.

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Government on Friday extended the ongoing lockdown in the Itanagar Capital Region for one more week till June 7.

The decision was taken on the recommendation of the health department.

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) on Friday had a discussion to assess the COVID-19 situation in the State and review the preparedness and response measures.

Following deliberations, SDMA decided that the state must continue to take strict measures to contain the spread of the virus.

During the meeting, the state government decided to continue containment with the zones in Tawang, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Namsai, Lohit & Anjaw for 7 more days.

One health facility will be identified in every assembly constituency and upgraded with necessary equipments. The district hospitals across the state will be equipped with oxygen manifold and copper pipeline system.

The state government further announced that around 1000 beds will be increased by July.

The Six 100 LPM PSA plants functional in Ziro, Tawang, Tezu, Yingkiong, Seppa, Aalo will also be upgraded, stated the government.

The TRIHMS and DCH Chimpu will also be ramped up in terms of oxygen beds.

In terms of vaccination, the state government stated that more than it is planning to vaccinate more than 1.5 lakh citizens in the next 30 days.

So far, more than 3 lakh people have already been vaccinated.

The state government further stated that massive testing, tracking and treating will be carried out. Essential Medicine stock is sufficient and future requirements approved for order, it further informed.

State- wide virtual rounds by team of experts are also being done every morning to assess line of treatment.

The state government further informed that the DMOs are monitoring the active home isolation cases.
