ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh on Friday received 50,000 doses of Serum Institute of India manufactured Covishield vaccine.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to Twitter to make the announcement. This quota of vaccines will be used to vaccinate the 18+ age group, he informed.
“Government of Arunachal Pradesh is committed to intensify the coverage of vaccination to 18+ population of the state”, said the Chief Minister.
The state government on Friday stated that it is planning to vaccinate more than 1.5 lakh citizens in the next 30 days.

So far, more than 3 lakh people have already been vaccinated.
The state government further said that massive testing, tracking and treating will be carried out in the state.

In view of the rising number of COVID cases, the state government extended lockdown in Arunachal Pradesh Capital Region for one more week till June 7 on Friday.
The decision was taken on the recommendation of the health department.
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) also had a discussion to assess the COVID-19 situation in the State and review the preparedness and response measures.
So far, Arunachal Pradesh has recorded a total of 26814 cases of COVID-19 with 4351 active cases. A total of 22685 patients have recovered while 113 succumbed to the virus.
