ITANAGAR: At least 168 more people, including 16 security personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh yesterday, which took the tally in the state to 17,775.
The death toll however remained unchanged at 58.
As many as 44 new cases were reported from the Capital Complex Region, 46 from Lower Dibang Valley district, 11 each from Papumpare and Pakke Kessang, nine from East Siang, eight from West Kameng, seven each from Lower Subansiri and Tirap, five each from Lohit and Tawang, four from Upper Subansiri, three from Changlang, two each from Lower Siang and Namsai, while Leparada, Longding, Upper Siang and Kra Daadi districts reported one case each.
Accordingly, the number of active patients in the state increased to 724.
One army man, 11 Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn), three National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and an Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel are among the new patients.
The total number of recoveries rose to 16,993 after 25 more persons recuperated from the disease.
The recovery rate stood at 95.60 per cent and the positivity rate at 4.07 per cent.

As many as 4,40,234 samples have been tested in the state so far, including 3576 yesterday.
On the other hand, 50,534 people have been fully inoculated in Arunachal Pradesh since the vaccination drive began in January this year.
