The lawmaker from Longding-Pumao Assembly Constituency Thangwang Wangham has announced to earmark Rs 30 lakh from his MLALAD fund for the treatment of opium and drug addicts from entire Longding district, showing his concerns over the ‘alarming’ drug situation especially people’s penchant for opium.
Besides this, the MLA announced to sponsor UPSC aspirants and medical students from his constituency by allocating Rs 15 lakh and five lakh respectively – a major decision which got a thumbs up from his party during its Mandal executive meeting on Saturday.
In his brief speech, Wangham recounted the achievements of the BJP govt under the leadership of CM Pema Khandu. “The top two agendas of Pema Khandu led govt in the state are to make Arunachal a corruption free state and give its people clean governance.”
Coming heavily on the attitude of the people of Wakka for disrupting the Longding water project, he said that compensation amount has been given @ Rs 1000/meter and the people should cooperate with the department for the noble job of supplying water to the district headquarters, Longding, which is home to every citizen of Wancho community.
The meeting was attended by BJP in-charge of Tirap-Longding unit Tekhat Dada, district president Tanpho Wangnow & general secretary Chemnga Manham, block president Manlem Wangsu, former ZPM of Longding block Noksa Saham, booth level workers and many other karyakartas.
