ITANAGAR: At least 134 more people, including 10 security personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh over the past 24 hours, which took the tally in the state to 17,430.
The death toll however remained unchanged at 56.
As many as 37 new cases were reported from the Capital Complex Region, 38 from Lower Dibang Valley, 18 from West Kameng, 11 from Papumpare, six from East Siang, five from Tawang, four each from West Siang and Changlang, three each from Lower Subansiri and Lohit, two each from Namsai and Tirap and one from Leparada district.
Accordingly, the number of active patients in the state increased to 453.
Three National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, five army men and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are among the new patients.
The total number of recoveries rose to 16,921 after 61 more persons recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate stood at 97.08 per cent and the death rate at 0.32 per cent.
As many as 4,31,231 samples have been tested so far, including 3,029 yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has decided to vaccinate people between the age group of 18-44, free of cost.

The cabinet also approved to place an order of four lakh units of Covishield vaccine and to allot an additional amount of Rs 65 Crore to vaccinate the people of the age group.
The cabinet also directed the state health department to facilitate registration of all people above 18 years.
