Wushu team from Arunachal Pradesh has won sixteen medals in the 18th Junior National Wushu Championship 2019 held at Punjab University in Chandigarh.
The 5-day championship turned out to be lucky for the team which was able to win eight gold medals, six silver medals and two bronze medals.
Around 23 members represented the Arunachal Pradesh State Wushu Team in the Junior National Wushu Championship 2019.

Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu took to Twitter to congratulate the State Wushu Team. He wrote, “#GoodFight put up by our Arunachali #Wushu team in #Chandigarh. 8 Gold, 6 Silver, 2 Bronze Congratulations to our #Gold medalist Onilu Tega, Taug Ama, Nyeman Wangsu, Mepung Langmu & other medal winners.”
The players representing Arunachal Pradesh in the ‘Sanda’ event were Latwang Kamhua, Chow Sumetha, Tok Ajit, Kigo Yoka, Buku Goi, Ripaksho Chikro, Bachi C Khunjuju, Gyamar Kana, Rinchin Lamu, Onilu Tega, Taug Ama and Dorjee Dreema.
