In a sensational development, Arunachal Pradesh's Wakro police on 25th morning arrested three hooligan namely Anuj Deka (26), Nitin Karmakar (18), and Vishal Sonar (18), in attempting rape and murder of a local woman residing in a rented house here near the local Hospital.
According to the police sources, the incident occurred in the morning on Wednesday. After receiving the complaint from the woman's relatives, the local police immediately swung into action and arrested the culprits after a massive search operation. The victim was referred to Dibrugarh in Assam for treatment.
The three wrongdoers were produced before the court and put into 14 days of
judicial remands, informed Thomas Pertin, who is the OC of the Wakro Police Station.
They were booked under section 17/19, 341/354/354(B)/376/511/307/34 IPC
respectively.
It has been reported that the culprits are drug addicts. Vishal, who one of the perpetrators, has reportedly been involved in several theft cases in the area. A detailed inquiry has been initiated to authenticate the situation. Cross interrogation is also underway to find out the actual facts, the OC has said.
This is not the only case of sexual misconduct to have occurred in frontier state Arunachal Pradesh in recent times.
A video of the alleged incident, which is circulating online, shows a man molesting two women while a group of them are asked to swear that they voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the last parliamentary and assembly polls.
