TAWANG: In a bid to facilitate vaccination to every citizen, the Arunachal health department along with the local administration reached the remotest village of Tawang- Luguthang.

The vaccination drive took place at Domtsang, halfway before reaching the village, due to the remoteness of the village.

A total of 23 beneficiaries were vaccinated during the drive. The health officials also made the villagers aware about the Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

Located nearly 100kms from Tawang HQ, it takes two days to reach Luguthang village which has just 10 households.  The villagers have to go through many adversities on a daily basis due to the lack of road connectivity.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson of Tawang District, Leki Gombu provided an aid Rs 2000 to each family owing to the financial condition and hardships faced by the villagers during the ongoing pandemic.

Yak grazers, who lost their livestock last winter due to heavy snowfall, were also provided relief materials by ADC RD Thungon.

So far, the state has given the first dose of vaccine to 256459 citizens and 78386 have been vaccinated for the second dose.
