Pasighat, April 14, 2019:

The activists and volunteers of Adi Baane Kebang Women Wing (ABKWW) East Siang Unit, which has been working towards eradicating the drug and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) menace in the district, have seized several bottles of IMFL during the dry days of the election on 11 April.

In carrying out the order of district Magistrate East Siang District, who declared 'Dry Day' from 9 April to 12 April in connection with the general election, a team of Adi Baane Kebang Women Wing East Siang District Unit led by its President Oti Sitang Eko and General Secretary Oming Jamoh Pertin,seized 735 bottles of IMFL (as of April 10) at villages like Siluk, Kiyit under Mebo Sub-Division and Berung and 5 mile villages under Pasighat.

All the seized bottles were destroyed by the team near general cremation ground Pasighat on the same day which was witnessed by DEO cum DC of East Siang district Kinny Singh and SP Prashant Gautam.

It may be mentioned that The objective of the women wing is to set East Siang free from drug abuses, alcoholism (IMFL), Tiranga, etc besides warning those individuals who are selling Opium and Ganja.

Similar steps are also being taken up by ABKWW Lower Dibang Valley Unit under Lower Dibang Valley district.
