ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh’s A Tagit Sorang has successfully scaled the Mount Everest and has become the second person to climb the world’s highest peak this season.
Tashi Yangjom is the other Arunachalee who has performed the feat this season.

Sorang, who hails from the Sapha village in the Kra-Daadi district's Pip-Sorang circle, was congratulated by Arunachal Pradesh Governor B. D. Mishra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Sports minister Kiren Rijiju.
This achievement is an encouraging moment for the state's youth and a proud event for every Arunachali.
Governor Mishra stated that it is a heartening accomplishment to celebrate at a time when the entire state is battling the COVID-19 Pandemic.
He stated his hope that, as a youth icon, Sorang will contribute to the fight against the corona virus by encouraging people to get vaccinated and follow COVID's recommended measures.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted, “My hearty congratulations to Shri Abraham Tagit Sorang on successfully scaling #MtEverest, and also on becoming the second mountaineer from Arunachal after Ms #TashiYangjom to climb the world’s highest peak this season. Best wishes to Sorang Ji on your future endeavors!”.
Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju in his congratulatory tweet wrote, “I feel proud to inform that Shri A Tagit Sorang has successfully climed the Mt. Everest and has become the second person from Arunachal Pradesh after Ms Tashi Yangjom to climb the world’s highest peak this season. I extend my heartiest congratulations to him on the amazing feat!”.
