ITANAGAR: A medical camp was organised by the Longding Battalion of the Assam Rifles under Spear Corps at Wanu village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh in which as many as 340 villagers including 180 females, 90 males and 70 children were provided medical cover.

Villagers were taught about the importance of personal hygiene, sanitation, face mask use and COVID-19 vaccine precautions during the medical camp.

Earlier on Thursday, the Lunglei Battalion 23 Sector Assam Rifles (East) distributed essential items including anti-COVID-19 items to inmates of the Baptist Church Orphanage Home at Lunglei in Mizoram.

Meanwhile, India reported a daily COVID-19 case count of 2,17,353 today, as many states struggled with a lack of hospital beds, oxygen, medicine and vaccine doses.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1185 people have succumbed to COVID-19.
