Amid a plethora of controversies surrounding the BJP party in Arunachal Pradesh, the party has decided to field two tried-and-tested candidates in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections to be held in the frontier state on March 11.
The saffron party has selected Arunachal state President of BJP Tapir Gao to contest the election from Arunachal West Constituency whereas Union Minister and Lok Sabha MP Kiren Rijiju will contest for the Arunachal East Constituency.
It is to be mentioned that the BJP party in Arunachal Pradesh has been significantly eroded after 12 sitting MLAs and 2 Ministers joined the Conrad Sangma-led National People's Party (NPP) after they were denied tickets to contest the Assembly elections.
