The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a mightily impressive beginning to the Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh. After winning two seats ‘uncontested’, the party has added a third seat of the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh Assembly to their kitty.
Phurpa Tsering has won the Dirang Assembly seat unopposed after the other candidates withdrew nominations on Thursday.
Tsering’s victory was announced by BJP General Secretary and Northeast in-charge Ram Madhav on Thursday in a tweet.
Earlier, BJP candidates Kento Jini from Alo (East) and Taba Tedir (Yachuli) were elected unopposed to the Arunachal Assembly. Could this be the beginning of a saffron wave in the frontier state?
