Breaking: Arunachal Pradesh Records first Positive Case of COVID-19 in Tezu

Itanagar, April 2, 2020:

Abdul Talukdar, a resident of Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh has tested positive for the contagion coronavirus or COVID-19. Inside Northeast sources have confirmed that he attended the Tablighi Jamaat meet on March 16 and has been in quarantine since March 24.

The Jamaat attendee was found to be COVID-19 positive in Tezu town which falls under the Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh. As precautionary measures, the District Administration has quarantined all those who took part in the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in March last.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the people living in the locality do not have proper awareness about the pandemic coronavirus that has infected close to 10 lakh people across the world.

In Manipur, a man who had recently attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in New Delhi’s Nizamuddin has also tested positive for the contagion. This announcement was made by the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh at 12:56 am when he took to Twitter to post about the development.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam continue to see a spike, with the Government of Assam now confirming that as many as 16 people are carriers of the contagion in the State. 3 more cases have been detected in Goalpara, and all had reportedly joined the Tablighi Jamaat in New Delhi’s Nizamuddin.

At 12:15 am, the Health Minister took to Twitter to inform that “3 more COVID 19 positive cases in Goalpara, Assam, taking the total to 16. These three new cases are also of those who joined Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz.”
