Arunachal Pradesh has turned into a virtual warzone over the issue of granting ST status to the non-indigenous communities. As per the latest reports, a protestor has been shot on his thigh outside the official residence of CM Pema Khandu. According to reports, the protestor was trying to enter Khandu’s residence when he was shot on the thigh by authorities.
It is to be mentioned that the protestors have already set fire to Deputy CM Chowna Mein’s bungalow. They also burned a vehicle, presumably belonging to the deputy CM which was parked in the premises. Senior Minister Nabam Rebia’s house has also been torched.
Risso Tari, a 22-year-old, had been shot dead on Friday allegedly by authorities during the protests.
