Troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) under Guwahati Frontier apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler and rescued 120 cattle heads from the bordering areas of Cooch Behar district in West Bengal, Dhubri and South Salmara in Assam.
Acting on a tip off, the BSF troops carried out a special operation in general area of village 60 Bigha in South Salmara and apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 14 cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Soleman Ali. The apprehended cattle smuggler along with cattle heads were handed over to police for further legal action.
Besides above, BSF troops also rescued 106 cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Coochbehar, Dhubri and South Salmara while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
