BEIJING: India's Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu's recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh was not taken well by neighbouring country China.

China objected to the vice president visit claiming that India never recognized the Northeastern state as a part of its own.

Reportedly, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian on Wednesday made some remarks on being questioned about the visit.

He has stated that the Chinese government has never recognized the so-called Arunachal Pradesh stablished unilaterally and illegally by the Indian side and firmly opposes the Indian leader’s visit to this above-mentioned area".

He remarks come days after the two countries failed to make any headway in resolving the standoff that took place on May 5 and eventually led to violence in Pangong area.

Rejecting China's objection asserting that Arunachal Pradesh is an 'integral an inalienable' part of the country.

The Vice President paid a visit to Arunachal Pradesh on October 9. A special session of the state assembly was addressed by Naidu where he said that the transformation of Northeast is a result of resurgence in the region's rate of progress which was not paid attention to earlier.

The country has claimed Arunachal Pradesh as a portion of South Tibet and the boundary issue with India has been consistent.
