BISWANATH: In a major breakthrough, sleuths of the Excise Intelligence Bureau (EIB) Guwahati have seized around 586 Arunachal quota IMFL bottles during a raid in the house of one person, identified as Dilip Hazarika, at Chandamari village of Gohpur under Biswanath district of Assam.
According to EIB officials, the confiscated items were supposedly intended for sale in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

The seized 586 bottles include 9 Star whisky 180 ml - 188 nos, Red Star beer - 1 case, McD No 1: 750 ml- 1 case (7 bottles), McD No 1: 180 ml- 1 case (23 bottles), McD No 1: 375 ml- 6 bottles, McD rum 375ml- 2 bottles, McD rum 180 ml- 13 bottles , IB 180 ml- 168 bottles , IB 750 ml- 1 case, IB 375 ml- 8 bottles , Kingfisher beer 500 ml- 1 case, Royal Stag 375 ml- 11 case, Royal Stag 750 ml- 4 bottles, Royal Stag 180 ml- 5 bottles, 8 PM 375 ml- 3 bottles, 8 PM 180 ml- 3 bottles, Jolly Roger rum 180 ml- 2 bottles, Old Monk rum 180 ml- 3 bottles, Tuborg beer 500 ml- 10 bottles, DS Black 750 ml- 1 bottle and DS Black 180 ml- 1 bottle.
For further investigation, the accused person has been handed over to the excise department of Gohpur circle.
Ahead of the Assam assembly polls the excise department has issued helpline numbers (7002231557 / 7002266033) for the receipt of intelligence feedback on illegal production/storage/sale of alcohol and for the receipt of complaints and information on the breach of the law and supply of liquor among voters to manipulate voting.
