By-election 2019 Update: Arunachal Records Highest Turnout at 90.74%, UP Lowest at 44.71 %

Guwahati, October 21, 2019:

Polling for 51 constituencies across 18 states concluded at 6 pm. While Arunachal Pradesh's Khonsa West Assembly constituency recorded highest turnout for the by-election at 90.74 percent, Uttar Pradesh recorded the lowest at 44.71 percent.

Northeast Indian states have recorded high voter turnouts in the ongoing by-election in which are being held today. Polling began early in the morning at 7 am.

Poklok-kamrang 79.36%

Martam-rumtek(BL) 72.6%

Gangtok(BL) 51.97%

Latest figures from Assam:

Ratabari 74.37%

Jania 78.21%

Rangapara 77.5%

Sonari 66.4%

Latest figures from Meghalaya:

Shella: 79.83%

Latest figures from Arunachal:

West Khonsa: 90.74%
