Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Gegong Apang has joined Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) on Wednesday. The decision came up at a meeting held between the JD(S) and Gegong Apang held at Pasighat Guest House.
Apang served as Chief Minister of the state for 23 long years.
After the meeting, Apang commented "JD(S)...secular forces are there. Therefore we have decided now we will be together."
The Janata Dal (Secular) is an Indian political party led by former Prime Minister of India, Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda who served as the 11th PM of the country from 1996 to 1997. The party is recognized as a State Party in the states of Karnataka and Kerala. It was formed in July 1999 by the split of Janata Dal party. It has a political presence mainly in Karnataka.
