Union Sports minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday stated that the Indian army has sent a hotline message to its counterpart Peoples’ Liberation Army of China regarding the abduction of five Arunachal villagers.

Taking to tweeter Rijiju wrote “The Indian Army has already sent hotline message to the counterpart PLA establishment at the border point in Arunachal Pradesh. Response is awaited.”

It may be mentioned that Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) of China had reportedly abducted five villagers from Nacho, Upper Subansiri in Arunachal Pradesh. This was stated by Congress legislator Ninong Ering. The incident has reportedly happened at a time when India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is meeting defence ministers of Russia and China. Ering stated that China’s action have sent a very wrong message.

The five boys belongs to the Tagin community of Arunachal Pradesh. They were abducted from a jungle near Nacho while they were out for hunting. The villagers who have reportedly been abducted are Toch Singkam, Prasat Ringling. Dongtu Ebiya, Tanu Baker and Ngaru Diri. Two other villagers who had accompanied the abducted persons managed to escape.

Prakash Ringling, brother of abducted Arunachal youth Prasad Ringling in a telephonic conversation with a reporter said that his brother was kidnapped by the Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) when he had gone to the Indo-China border with the Indian army. Prakash said that his brother is a school going student. Prakash further said that he was informed by the Indian army over phone that his bother has been abducted by the PLA. However, Prakash could not talk to the army in details due to poor mobile network in his village. Prakash also said that there were four other youths with his brother at the time of abduction.
