Itanagar, March 23, 2019:

Former All India Mahila Congress general secretary Jarjum Ete, who recently resigned from the Congress over some disputes, will be fielded by the Janata Dal (Secular) party to contest the ensuing elections from Arunachal West Constituency. This was announced in the second list of JD (S) candidates which was announced on Friday. The JD(S) party is now being headed by former CM Gegong Apang in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Ete, who was a Congress aspirant for the Arunachal West seat, resigned after she was denied a ticket by the Congress as Congress President Rahul Gandhi had made it compulsory for all former Chief Ministers to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

It is to be mentioned that Ete is the sister of former Chief Minister, Jarbom Gamlin. Significantly, Ete’s siblings, Jarpum and Jarkar Gamlin were snubbed by the BJP which resulted in them joining the NPP.
