ITANAGAR: Captain Marak Pertin, a surgeon and the first doctor from Arunachal Pradesh has taken command of the Indian Naval Hospital Ship Kasturi in Lonavla on October 11, 2021.
Captain Pertin is the first Indian Navy Captain from Arunachal Pradesh to command an Indian Naval Hospital Ship, according to reports.
According to a statement, Surgeon Captain received his MBBS from Government Medical College Kota, Rajasthan.
He received his primary education at Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya and his secondary education at Donyi Polo Vidhya Bhawan in Arunachal Pradesh, according to the statement.

Dr. Marak Pertin was promoted to Captain in the Indian Navy in July of 2020, making the entire people of Arunachal exceedingly proud by accomplishing a unique feat in the Indian Navy.
Pertin is the son of Gargit Pertin and Betdol Pertin of Lower Dibang Valley district's Parbuk village (Bolik).
Taking to Twitter MyGovt Arunachal Pradesh wrote."Elevating the pride of Arunachal Pradesh, Surgeon Captain Marak Pertin assumed the command on Indian Naval Hospital Ship Kasturi, Lonavla on 11th of October. We congratulate him on the success and hope this achievement will motivate other aspirants from the state."
