PASIGHAT: Ninong Ering, the Congress MLA who represents Pasighat West Constituency of Arunachal Pradesh, is now blowing up social media after posting videos in which he can be seen teaching students in his home Constituency.
Ering, talking to Inside Northeast, stated that has been teaching students from Remi Basti in his Home Constituency as their basics are not clear. "Students there are weak in English, so I told them that I would teach them during my off time. This is a unique way to ensure that students quickly grasp English, which is essential in this day and age," he told us.
MLA Ninong Ering disclosed to Inside Northeast that he started this initiative immediately after being elected as an MLA. "I go to these schools -- which are attended by economically disadvantaged students -- twice a week to teach them the basics of English. I feel it is my responsibility as an MLA to teach them using my own knowledge and experience so that they can have a solid grasp of the subject growing up."
Although the COVID-19 played a spoilsport last year, the MLA says that the classes have begun once again, which is good news for the children. "Most of these students are from economically backward backgrounds; therefore, the fact that we are re-starting these classes is a positive development for them."

Meanwhile, the videos of MLA Ninong Ering imparting lessons -- which he has posted on Facebook -- are starting to go viral, with netizens lavishing praise on the MLA for his unique initiative.
"One of my main achievements would be to improve the education in my constituency which is very poor. I am personally monitoring the schools and trying to be a teacher. My pledge during elections was roads which I have nearly achieved by getting all the roads sanctioned by this year. Health and education remains in top priority. Wish me luck to achieve it," the Congressman captioned one of the videos.
"Fortunate to have a versatile leader!," user Ponil Bori stated, while another user, Lokam Tamar Anthony wrote, "My prayers and wishes are that you become a chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh one and bring some changes in Arunachal."
