NCSN-IM dubs Arunachal Pradesh killing as ‘planned act of terrorism’

The NSCN (I-M) on Sunday termed the killing of six of its cadres by a combined team of Assam Rifle, Indian Army and Arunachal Pradesh police at Nginu in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday as a “well planned and coordinated act of terrorism” by the Indian security forces.

Paying tribute to the six cadres, the outfit, in a release issued by its ministry of information and publicity, said the Indian security forces made Nginu the killing field by gunning down the six Naga army personnel in cold blood on the fabricated ground that they were planning to execute a mischievous mission as claimed by the Arunachal Pradesh DGP.

“The Naga brave hearts were caught by surprise at the break of the day, overpowered from all sides, giving them no chance to position themselves. They died fighting to the last man standing,” the release said.

Not satisfied with the killing, the security personnel crossed all decency by exposing the mutilated bodies and shoving them like dead animals, the NSCN (I-M) stated.

It said, “This is the brazen manner of the government of India in dealing with National Socialist Council of Nagalim which is in a ceasefire agreement running more than twenty 23 years.”

Stating that this is the repeat of another state sponsored terrorism against the ceasefire party, the outfit said India, the world’s largest democracy, wanted to make Indo-Naga ceasefire as the killing field to force its will on the Naga people.

The release said the existence of the NSCN should not be construed as a nuisance to India in any manner. It added that the prevailing Indo-Naga ceasefire signed between the government of India and the NSCN is the standing evidence of Nagas’ goodwill towards India to live in peaceful coexistence.

The outfit alleged that the suppressive nature of the Centre is the root cause complicating the 23 years of Indo-Naga political talks that has achieved much but honoured very little.

It also accused certain electronic media of going critical with malicious and insidious intent to put the NSCN in bad light.

The release said the Nagas in general and the NSCN in particular mourned the death of the six sons of the soil who has made supreme sacrifice.

“The Naga Army will ever remember them and honour them with victory because their sacrifices will not go in vain,” the NSCN said.
