GUWAHATI: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura fairly widespread rain with isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms is possible on Friday and Saturday.

On the other hand from July 9 onwards, in some places of northeast like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura rainfall intensity and distribution in are extremely likely to decrease due to the return of the southwest monsoon.

The northern limit of the southwest monsoon (NLM) is still passing through Barmer, Bhilwara, Dholpur, Aligarh, Meerut, Ambala, and Amritsar and is predicted to reach the rest of western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan as well as Delhi by July 10th.

From the Bay of Bengal moist easterly breezes have begun to fall across eastern India. By the July 10th, it is expected to have moved to northwest India covering Punjab and northern Haryana.

Around July 11, a low-pressure area is expected to form across west-central and the adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

From July 9 onwards sporadic to widespread rainfall is possible over northwest India due to these conditions.

On July 11 and 12, isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Punjab; on July 9-12, it is very likely over Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh; and on July 10-12, it is very likely over Himachal Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.

During the next 5 days, scattered to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls is likely over Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha) with isolated very heavy rainfall also quite possible over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on the 8th and 9th of July; on July 10 and 11, in western Madhya Pradesh and on July, in eastern Madhya Pradesh.

For the next five days, daily precipitation of 50 mm is forecast throughout the Konkan and Malabar coasts with isolated areas receiving up to 100 mm.
