NPP MLA attacked by angry mob in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh, April 12, 2019:

In a sensational incident on D-Day (April 11) in the frontier state Arunachal Pradesh, violence and chaos erupted and an angry mob also allegedly attempted to manhandle an MLA belonging to the NPP party.

The controversy started when a police constable, Mankhaw Boham from Niausa village cast the vote for the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Thangwang Wangham on behalf of the less educated women. But this incident angered BJP supporters who alleged that the women wanted to vote for some other candidate.

After this incident, demands began to re-conduct the polls. Meanwhile, it has been alleged that the NPP candidate, Thangwang Wangham visited the polling station and threatened to burn down a school building that he had built during his 15-year tenure as an MLA as the people demanded re-polling.

For this, the people of the village got offended and tried to thrash the MLA. The crowd went violent and the security personnel of the NPP candidate opened fired. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
