KHARSANG: Indian Army officials and police personnel on Monday jointly apprehended a National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Reformation) (NSCN-R) operative and seized a 7.65 mm pistol and six rounds of live ammunition from his hideout camp in Kharsang area of Changlang district of Arunachal, officials said.

The NSCN-R operative has been identified as Self-styled Sergeant Major Sengjong Khimhun, aged 38.
According to reports, the militant had reportedly gone to the Kharsang area to extort money from the business community.
A criminal case has already been registered against the arrested militant at the Kharsang Police Station, officials have informed.
