Troops of the Indian Army neutralized a hardcore Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim-Reformation (NSCN-R) cadre and busted a hideout of the militant outfit during early morning hours in Arunachal's Changlang on 28 September.
The operation was launched on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of NSCN (R) cadres in the area of Kharsang.
Based on this input, a well coordinated operation was launched, in which one active cadre of NSCN (R) was neutralized.

Upon further search of the area, a hideout was discovered in Arunachal's Changlang which was destroyed by the Army.
A large quantity of war-like stores was recovered from the slain insurgent. The recoveries included one M4 A1 USA made (Colts) assault rifle with 78 live rounds, one magazine and a knife.
It has been revealed that the locals were traumatized by the extortion activities of the insurgents in the area.
It may be mentioned here that a heavy gun battle was reported between Security Forces and militants of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland- Reformation, NSCN(R) in Tinsukia, along the Assam-Arunachal border near Pangsau on Saturday.
A cadre of the rebel outfit was also apprehended in Assam’s Dima Hasao district on September 10.
