MUMBAI: Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan slammed YouTuber Paras Singh for making racially insensitive comments on Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering.
Paras Singh, who goes by the name 'Paras Official' made racial slurs against Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering for his mongoloid features saying, Ering’s name is a Chinese name and also mocked the people of Arunachal Pradesh based on their appearance. He even went on to say that Arunachal doesn’t exist in India.
After Ering addressed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting for a ban on the re-launch of PUBG Mobile India's new incarnation Battlegrounds Mobile India, Singh, who was detained in Ludhiana on Tuesday, was evidently furious.

Amar Kaushik, the director of the film "Bala," was criticised Singh first for his comments. He said," Ignorance about your nation and its region is ridiculous in and of itself, but it becomes poison when that ignorance is articulated in an aggressive manner."
He wrote on his Instagram Stories that "we all need to speak out and denounce such idiocy with one voice and make these fools understand that it is not acceptable anymore."
Later actors Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, and Rajkummar Rao criticised Paras for his racial slurs against Arunachal Pradesh MLA and the state's people.
"Having spent so much time in Arunachal Pradesh, it's time we educate ourselves and others about how wrong this is," Dhawan wrote on his Instagram stories. And Kriti Sanon said it is past time for everyone in the country to be treated with the "same respect."
Meanwhile, Rajkumar Rao simply shared the filmmaker's post.
However, Paras Singh had apologised for his racial comments in yet another YouTube video on Monday.
After locating his location, Ludhiana Police apprehended him under the constant watch of Arunachal Police.
