An employee of a tea garden owned by Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein’s wife was reportedly abducted by United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) cadres.
Sensation prevails at Changlai Nangtao Khamti village in Piyong circle of Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh after the news of the abduction spread like wildfire.
As per reports, Debabrata Dev, a store keeper of M/S Sati Tea Estate, was abducted by five armed men who identified themselves as Ulfa (I) cadres.
The abductors also served an ransom note demanding Rs 3 crore for the safe release of Deb.
The family members and garden authorities have filed an FIR at the Namsai Police Station regarding the abduction.
The police have registered a case 115/2018 u/s 364(A)/365 IPC, R/W section 25 (1A) arms act 10/13 UPA act and launched a manhunt to trace Deb.
