Academy for Cricket Excellence clinch Arunachal Club T20 Championship 2026 title

The sixth edition of the Arunachal Club T20 Championship 2026 concluded successfully with the Academy for Cricket Excellence (ACE) emerging as champions after defeating Nirjuli Cricket Club by 58 runs in the final.

 

Batting first after winning the toss, ACE posted 132 runs, with Nabam Kama top-scoring with 54 runs and Nabam Dol contributing 17. ACE’s bowling attack then restricted Nirjuli Cricket Club, with Pritam Prem Khant Raj claiming three wickets, while Nabam Dol and Deepak Yadav picked up two wickets each.

 

Nirjuli struggled in the chase, with Techi Neri’s 16 runs being the highest individual score. ACE eventually secured a comfortable 58-run victory. Nabam Kama was adjudged Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.

 

Pritam Prem Khant Raj was named Man of the Tournament, while Dado Tachung won Best Batter and Darge Bagra was adjudged Best Bowler. Other individual awards included Best Fielder for Ankit Gupta, Catch of the Tournament for Abhishek Pal and Emerging Player of the Tournament for Nabam Jampar.

 

The closing ceremony was attended by Tagru Punung, Vice Chairman of the Eco-Tourism Development Board, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, as Chief Guest, while Dosh Dasi, President of the District Cricket Association of Upper Subansiri, attended as Guest of Honour.

 

Addressing the gathering, Itanagar Cricket Club President and Tournament Director Suraj Tayam announced that the next edition would place special emphasis on women’s cricket and U-19 boys, with plans to introduce the second edition of the Arunachal Women’s Premier League (AWPL) and create greater opportunities for young players.

 

Around 167 men and women cricketers participated in the championship. Tayam said the Itanagar Cricket Club would continue working to provide competitive platforms, exposure and opportunities for young cricketers across Arunachal Pradesh.

 

He also thanked Chief Minister Pema Khandu for sponsoring the championship, along with supporters, partners, officials, volunteers and participating teams for contributing to the successful completion of the tournament.
