A high-impact joint training exercise between the Indian Army and Assam Rifles wrapped up this week in Arunachal Pradesh, aimed squarely at improving operational synergy in one of India’s most sensitive frontier regions.
Held over seven days in difficult high-altitude terrain, the exercise focused on enhancing coordination in counter-insurgency operations and border management.
Personnel from both forces engaged in joint drills, cross-training on weapons and equipment, and familiarisation with each other's tactical procedures.
The training is part of a broader push to sharpen the forces’ preparedness for real-time cooperation along the India-China border, where the need for rapid, unified responses to emerging threats has grown increasingly critical.
Officials described the exercise as a necessary move to reinforce joint capabilities, particularly in rugged, strategically important zones where seamless cooperation is essential to national security.
