Arunachal: AAPSU reiterates demand to scrap 80:20 job reservation ratio, rules out any compromise
The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has reaffirmed its demand for the complete scrapping of the controversial 80:20 job reservation ratio, asserting that it will not compromise on the issue under any circumstances.
In an exclusive interview, AAPSU President Meje Taku said the Union remains firmly opposed to the existing policy and urged the Arunachal Pradesh Government to abolish it entirely.
Reacting to the government's decision to constitute a committee to examine the matter, Taku said AAPSU would closely monitor the committee's proceedings while maintaining its uncompromising stand on the issue.
He rejected allegations that the Union had hijacked the movement, stating that AAPSU is only representing the genuine concerns and aspirations of the students and indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh.
"We will not compromise on this issue under any circumstances," Taku said.
The AAPSU president further assured the public that the Union would continue its democratic movement until the 80:20 reservation ratio is withdrawn, reiterating that the demand to scrap the policy remains non-negotiable.
