A vibrant conclave titled “Contemporary Arunachal: Reflection, Retrospect, and the Way Forward” was held at the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, bringing together prominent voices from diverse fields to deliberate on pressing issues shaping the state’s future.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies (AITS), Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), as part of the 50-year celebration of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The gathering featured stimulating dialogue among social activists, scholars, artists, engineers, and youth representatives, creating a platform for inclusive conversation and community-driven insights.
Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor (28th Likabali) set the tone for the day with an inspiring opening and felicitated all distinguished panelists, encouraging collective reflection and action.

Advocate Radhelu Chai Techi, former Chairperson of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, spoke passionately about the intersection of customary law and women's rights, emphasizing the need for a more equitable social framework.
Nabam Takar, renowned singer-songwriter, stressed the importance of music in preserving cultural memory and identity, especially among the youth.
Social activist Taku Chatung highlighted the vital role of NGOs and civil society in sustainable development and grassroots mobilization.
Er. Jumgam Basar, Director of Urban Development and Housing, addressed the challenges of urban planning in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) and beyond.
Dr. Tadu Rimi, independent researcher and scholar, delved into the effects of migration, urban drift, and the evolving nature of traditional livelihoods and community life.
